About the workshop:
Are you feeling stressed? Do you often experience an increased heart rate and faster breathing? Muscles tense and beads of sweat appear?
This combination of reactions to stress is also known as the “fight-or-flight” response. While the activation of such a survival mode may have been very effective for our ancestors tackling physical threats, it is hardly plausible for modern men to deal with any psychological stressors, such as traffic jams, work pressure, and family difficulties.
Indeed, researches have shown that, as the extra hormones, fats and chemicals that would have otherwise been quickly burned during the awaited physical action are now staying in the body, over time, repeated activation of the “fight or flight” response takes a toll on our body.
Recognising our body’s reaction to an immediate stressor or threat is the first step to help us respond properly. In this class we will look at our reactivity, where it comes from and how to use ancient and modern tools to help us respond with awareness to stressful situations. This will include perspectives from the neuroscience and quantum physics, as well as ancient lineage tools to successfully reduce our reactivity.
